After the buy out of Palm last year for $1.2 Billion dollars. The mighty Hewlett Packard decided to throw their gauntlet into the Mobile Ring space by purchasing a mobile Pioneer named Palm. Why you may ask? Well, with the mobile space heating up and the room for growth exponentially available. Hewlett Packard sees an opportunity for the company to enter a market that its so far been unable to compete in. HP decided to buy PALM for two of the following major reasons:

1. The very Intuitive and TRUE MULTITASKING webOS Mobile Operating System platform.
2. The multiple patents that Palm has in the Mobile Marketplace.

Since acquisitions normally take time to complete and also the integration of two companies with talent pool fallout and new hires into HP/PALM, the company has finally announced three new products: HP Veer, HP Pre 3, and HP Touchpad. From what i've read and watched about the new products, i've come up with the following PROS and CONS for the new products:

PROS

1. The HP Veer is a nice 800MHZ small form factor original Pre type slider that is meant for the teen market. Not a bad small phone.
2. The HP Pre 3 is a great style phone. It takes the original form factor of the Palm Pre/Pre 2 by enlarging the screen size to 3.6" screen. Just a 0.1" bigger screen then Apple's Iphone which is the most popular smartphone on the market.
3. The HP Pre 3 packs a whopping Qualcomm 1.4Ghz Processor
4. The HP Touchpad is pretty much spec for spec when it comes to the Ipad when it comes to size and weight, but when it comes to Processor Speed and Support, we are talking about a Qualcomm Dual Core 1.2Ghz Snapdragon Processor and full FLASH SUPPORT!!! (Gimme a Break Apple, you may be able to fool the rest of the world with your no-having Flash Support mobile products, but not me. HTML 5.0 will not be majority of the websites till about 2-3 years from now if you are lucky). Therefore, i will take my HP Touchpad which supports HTML 5.0 and Adobe FLASH!)
5. Touch-to-Share Technology built-in the HP Pre 3 and HP Touchpad. What is this? This is a cool new feature that allows you to share files, webpages, contacts, and many other things by just TAPPING your Smartphone and Tablet together!! It's that easy!
6. A brand new Touchstone Inductive charger that enables you to put your HP Touchpad at an angle in a new Exhibition Mode which will allow you to use your HP Touchpad as a PHOTO FRAME, CLOCK, CALENDAR, SPORTS, STOCKS, etc.
7. Hints of a Cloud Basic Music service coming to the HP Touchpad and Pre 3
8. HP Touchpad will feature Beats Audio Technology by Dr. Dre for great sound!
9. HP has signed partnerships with Dreamworks, Time Inc., and Amazon to launch for the HP Touchpad.
10. HP Touchpad offers the first customized On-screen virtual keyboard to fit different hand sizes such as XS, S, M, and L. Yes, you can adjust the size of the ON-Screen keyboard. HP has also put the numbers above the keyboard for less keystrokes for typing things.
11. Seamless work flow by allowing messages, calls, and emails to go back and forth beween your Super Smartphone (HP Pre 3) and Tablet (HP Touchpad).
12. New Marketing with heavy emphasis on "Everybody ON".
13. HP did some heavy marketing through the Grammy Awards which is cool. They are starting to get the word out on HP webOS!

CONS

1. The HP Pre 3 and HP Touchpad will be released this Summer!?!?!?
2. No Pricing Information has been announced
3. No Carrier Information has been announced
4. Making people wait longer for their products means chances of losing even more webOS faithfuls to Android, Iphone, WP7, Blackberry, etc..
5. No phones featuring 4.0" screens. Yes, some people want 4" or higher screens.
6. No new phones with just a touchscreen and no Keyboard. Yes some people wanted HP/PALM to come out with a new Smartphone that would have NO KEYBOARD! What the hell people? Palm phones have always had a Keyboard.

Either way, i am happy to see that HP is doubling down on webOS like it said it would during the Earnings Conference Call last year after it purchased Palm. So far, i see HP putting their money where their mouth is! Thats all i can ask. Please continue the fight HP!

Sunil

Google's New Leadership (Larry Page) and his Entourage inside Google 3.0!

Sergey Brin, Larry Page, and Eric Schmidt in Sun Valley, Idaho, last summer

This article from Bloomberg BusinessWeek was probably one of the best articles I've read in a while. Unlike most articles about Google, it doesn't focus on the usual Eric Schmidt, Larry Page and Sergery Brin (The Three Musketeers of Google). Instead the focus of the article is on key leaders of what it calls "Google 3.0": Vic Gundotra who is heading up a secret initiative to take on Facebook and Social Networking under something called "Google +1", Andy Rubin who is the man behind ANDROID (Mobile Operating System Platform), Salar Kamangar who is the man behind everyone's favorite on the net: YOUTUBE!, Susan Wojcicki who is the advertising lead and interestingly enough a person who rented her garage to Sergey Brin and Larry Page when starting up Google and her sister is married to Sergey Brin, Sundar Pichai who is leading the Chrome Initiative, Udi Manber and Amit Singhal who are leading the KEY part of Google's business: SEARCH!!! That phone should be called a Dumb Phone). On July 9th, 2009 i went out to the Sprint store and purchased the Palm Pre. Why you ask when the IPhone was dominating the market and Blackberry's were in everyone's hand. Android was just getting there feet on the ground at that time. Well, i love the IPhone's iOS operating system, but as always, i hate the fact that i am under Apples umbrella. I mean NO FLASH, had to go with AT&T. Too things i hated the most so i decided to wait. Upon purchasing my Palm pre, i immediately noticed the fluidity and ease of use that the Palm webOS had on it's competitors (iOS, Android, Blackberry, etc..). Unfortunately what i also noticed was that webOS needed good Processing power and way more memory. Palm webOS did however offer TRUE multitasking, SYNERGY of web apps, and a pure Webcentric Linux Based Mobile Platform! I was taken back by the operating system. You have to understand that i went through hell for one year with the Samsung Instinct's operating systems so this was a welcome change. Now, lets fast forward to April 28, 2010 when HP decided to buy Palm for $1.2 Billion Dollars. Some people may as why? Well, as HP's Personal Systems Group Executive VP Todd Bradley said to Maria Bartiromo's CNBC Analyst, "It was for webOS"! Lets see what HP will announce on Feb9th. I'm so excited!!

Peace,
Sunil

<link rel='related' href='http://www.precentral.net/bradley-february-9th-will-bring-broad-set-announcements-video' title='HP spent $1.2 Billion on Palm's webOS. The once dominate Intel powerhouse who has dominated the Chipset market for years is now having to bow down and pay out licensing rights for grahpics chipset designs in order to be competitive in this growing mobile landscape. NVIDIA who has been in litigation with Intel for many years now won a major battle and is now going to be offering some new chipsets of there own to compete with Intel in the mobile landscape. Intel who has dominated the PC Chipset market for years is now trying to get into the mobile market. A company by the name of ARM HOLDINGS has been shaking up the mobile market (i.e. tablets, phones, midi's,etc..) for quite sometime. ARM HOLDINGS has always been known as the dominate player in the mobile market, but now INTEL notices the market shifting from a PC SOCIETY to a MOBILE SOCIETY (i.e. Smartphones, Tablets, etc..). Another major shakeup was Microsoft who recently shifted the next version of the popular Windows Operating system to work better with ARM chipset designs along with Intel and AMD who normally dominated the PC industry. Therefore, Intel has decided to fight back and get into the mobile market as well. AMD also took action by forcing there CEO to resign in order to grow the company quicker. What does this all mean for us, the consumer>? Greater competition always means better pricing and choices for the consumer so sit back and ENJOY the ONSLAUGHT of Mobile Marketing from NVIDIA, INTEL, ARM HOLDINGS, and AMD over the next 10 years. Mark my words, ten years from now, people will be looking back and saying, wow i actually used to sit at a desktop? Apple's IPhone is still dominating the US Market as well.

RIM's CO-CEO Mike Lazaridis recently had an interview with PC MAG's journalist about BlackBerry's 10 year plan in the mobile industry. It's a very interesting read. Check out with they have to say. As i've said a 1,000 times before, Blackberry needs to change up there Mobile Operating System. Sure the current version does great for Emailing, BBM'ing, and most general web stuff, but those days are gone. People want all that plus MORE, hence the Iphone, HTC EVO, Samsung Epic, etc... The most major announcement out of CES 2011 in Vegas have been all the Dual-Core powered phones coming out this year. Our days of having the Best and most Powerful Desktop or Laptop computer have changed to having the most powerful and best Smartphone. It's going to be an interesting and competitive landscape this year with the launch of Verizon's Iphone due to maybe occur next week, new Windows Phone 7 phones coming soon, Google's Android just growing like a weed, and last but not least my personal favorite (only because i use one) HP/PALM holding there big press event on Feb 9th for their new line of Smartphones.

However, with all that said, i am very impressed with BlackBerry's new QNX powered Tablet. It's one of the coolest devices i've seen from this company in a long time. Therefore, lets see what Blackberry brings down the pipeline later this year.

Peace,
Sunil

Wall Street Journal is reporting that Verizon may launch the Iphone on 01/11/11 at 11:00 a.m. Believe it or Not?!?

It was January 9, 2007 when Steve Jobs introduced the Iphone to the world at the Macworld Conference. The Iphone was entering it's name into the Smartphone market and basically set the BAR for what a Smartphone should be able to do. The sleek design, user interface, and huge Application storefront has helped APPLE retain a stock market value of $300 Billion dollars.

Now exactly 4 years to the date, Wall Street Journal is reporting that Verizon will hold a Press Conference in NY at 11:00 a.m. on 01/11/11. Hmmm, will it be the big announcement we've all been waiting for, the Iphone is coming to Verizon Wireless!?!? Also, Verizon Wireless has always been regarded as having the best call reception out of any network. Will Verizon's network reliability start to go down because of the onslaught of users who have the Iphone from AT&T and jump over to Verizon's Network. AT&T spent millions of dollars last year upgrading there network to have better bandwidth for their user base. Unfortunately the network upgrade was done last year, but AT&T has been having problems handling the mobile network load. Will the same affect happen to Verizon? Lets hope not, but stay tuned next week to see if Verizon will finally make the big news. I mean I could’ve switched to the HTC EVO or Samsung EPIC six months ago (Which by the way are both KICK ASS PHONES. I give GOOGLE/Android a lot of credit. In two years, Android has blossomed into a bad ass Mobile O.S.). I was playing with the HTC EVO this past Christmas on my cousins phone in Washington D.C./Maryland and that phone rocks! The Google Navigation on an Android phone is by far the best! It’s sooo awesome!!!

Sure, the IPHONE is awesome and the IPAD is great, but no Adobe Flash!?!?! C’mon Steve Jobs, quit trying to brain wash society by telling us that HTML 5 will do away with Flash. We are about 3-5 years away from that happening!! Almost 60 percent of websites use FLASH media players, Flash Menu Systems, and Flash Games/Applications. Don’t BS me! Some of my favorite websites are running on Flash (i.e. Grooveshark.com, sunilnin.com, Comcast.net, Yahoo Fantasy – Stat Tracker, etc..) I have to get Flash compatibility on my next phone. Oh and by the way, all of my friends who think I hate Blackberry. Sure, I am not a big fan of the current blackberry phones. They seem very boring to me, but those Canooks (UH HUM, I mean Canadians) are up to something good. Blackberry just recently came out with the Torch which is the first blackberry phone I’ve ever liked and more importantly Blackberry is re-inventing there company’s mobile operating system by starting from scratch. They are using a brand new QXN (Linux based just like Google’s Android and HP/Palm webOS) operating system on the NEW Blackberry Pad (which looks awesome!) and rumor has it that new phones later in the year might have the same QXN software. Blackberry also hired a Swedish company called TAT who is known for their ELEGANT User Interfaces. My view is that Blackberry will come back with a vengeance later this year!

Anyways, Instead of being overshadowed at this weeks CES show in Vegas (which they will still have a booth). HP is holding their own special event on February 9th in San Fran to announce new hardware and software that’s coming out!! As you all know, my lucky number is 9, so I think it’s just plain fate that I wait to see what they have to offer. If I don’t like what they have to offer, then GOOGLE/ANDROID here I come, but to be honest I hope I like the hardware that HP/PALM has coming out because I love the HP/PALM webOS 2.0 mobile operating system. I personally feel it’s the most intuitive and easy to use mobile operating system on the market, but I am willing to experiment and check out other systems, so that’s why I’ve played with almost every mobile operating System on the market
Hence, this leads me back to my news that I just got on my favorite blog. Check out the POEM HP/PALM put out and the announcement:

'Twas the week after Christmas, when all over Palm
All the creatures were stirring, no mouses were calm;
More smartphones are coming in two-o-one-one,
To bring more mobility to everyone;
Designers are nestled all snug in their cubes,
With visions of webOS (a series of tubes);
We've read all your tweetering (no need for ALL CAPS),
We all know that this ain't a time for no naps.
Yes, out on the blogs there has been so much chatter,
You'd think it was truly a death-or-life matter
The webOS update brings goodies like Flash,
And Just Type and stacking (and won't cost you cash).
More treats that the new year will bring unto you?
(We have heard that you're feeling they're long overdue.)
And what to your wondering eyes will appear?
Not a miniature hint now, but never you fear,
We'll have news to share with you, soon as we can,
I know what you're thinking: "Just tell us your plan!"
I'm sure that you've heard that a tablet is nigh,
And lots more phones, and ePrint, and cool apps, oh my,
"First, Palm Pre! then, Pixi! and, Pre Plus (and Pre 2)!
Next, Whatzis? or Whosit! or, Thingabob? and Yoohoo!"
(Those aren't the real names! they're not even the codes!
You'll have to wait! have to wait! the future bodes!)
But for now I'll exclaim that unless something leaks,
"Happy newness to all...in the forthcoming weeks."

Peace,
Sunil

Apple admits Attenuation is an industry wide problem. Blackberry and HTC attack Apple Back

Apple finally held a last minute press conference on Friday to address the latest Iphone 4 reception issues due to Attenuation problems with the new design of the Iphone 4. Apple states that this has always been an industry wide issue and then they compared HTC and Blackberry (RIM) phones to see how they perform relating to the same attenuation problems. Steve Jobs also states that "Smartphones are not perfect and neither is Apple". The funny thing is that the fix to the problem is everyone gets a FREE BUMPER CASE to improves the attenuation problem. Also, Nokia weighed in on the topic and stated there engineering is superior in this technology. Furthermore, BlackBerry (RIM) and HTC were not to pleased with Apple's comments. The saga goes on, but check out the crazy articles:

Nokia talks about attenuation and how they are superior in this area.

Reasearch in Motion Ceo's answer back at Apple.

HTC talks statistics with there phones!

This Apple press conference was mainly to address the recent media fenzy in regards to the recent Consumer Reports article that states that they can't recommend the Iphone 4 because of the reception problems.

Sunil
www.sunilnin.com

<link rel='related' href='http://sunilnin.blogspot.com/' title='Apple admits Attenuation is an industry wide problem. Yes, Microsoft is getting into the VMWARE World.

Microsoft released Windows Server 2008 on the market recently. Is this something new? Not really. Just better management utilities and better security features, but the real push behind Windows Server 2008 is MSFT's Hyper-V technology. The virtualization software that Microsoft is bringing to the small and medium size business world. Hey, if the large customers (i.e. Nissan) want to use our Hyper-V technology, then why the hell not? Well, it seems Nissan just recently did. Check out the article! Will Windows 7 still come out as planned on 10/22/09 or will it be delayed?

Microsoft was almost at the end of the tunnel with Windows 7. The blogs and reviews of Windows 7 for the past seven months have been great and with news of RTM (release to market) version of Windows 7 going to prominent partners (i.e Asus, Dell, Acer, HP,e tc..) in the past few weeks, one would think that it was going to be a stellar Fall season for Windows 7. Unfortunately, a major flaw was found recently in Windows 7 RTM version. It's a major memory leak that will cause our good ole BSOD. The infamous Blue Screen of Death. Microsoft is blaming the problem on hardware vendors, but read the article and you make the call. Everyone knows that Google has already started promoting their Google Apps, but now it looks like they are going to come out with a new operating system called "Google Chrome OS". I think this is kind of funny because i was recently talking about this concept with my good friend George. I said, "Most people these days turn their computer on and go straight to the web browser". Therefore, what does Google do? They decide to come out with a new operating system based on the Google Chrome Web Browser. Hmmmmmmmmm...Very Interesting...Read the whole article!

Top Smartphones According to Consumer Reports

The top five handsets in the Consumer Reports rankings according to InformationWeek are the iPhone 3G S at 73, the iPhone 3G and the Samsung Omnia at 70, the Blackberry Storm, T-Mobile G1, Blackberry Bold, and Samsung Epix at 69, the Pre and curve 8900 at 67 and the LG Incite at 66. Click here to read the whole article.

Sunil
www.sunilnin.com

Does the Palm Pre live up to all of it's hype? I have been researching this phone for months and reading all the reviews for months and was set on upgrading to this phone when it came out, but i was still hesitant because i was tricked so bad last year by Sprint's Marketing campaign for the Samsung Instinct. I remember when this phone was coming out that Sprint was proclaiming it was the "iPhone Killer". My god, was that far from the truth. After playing around with my Samsung Instinct phone for over a month last year, i finally realized i was conned. Most of my friends also who picked up the Samsung Instinct were not impressed. Don't get me wrong, the Samsung Instinct phone was fine, but the software on the phone was horrible.

Lets forward to present day, i have just upgraded to the NEW Palm Pre. I have only had the phone for a few days now, but i had a lot of time to play with it over the long holiday weekend. From my initial usage, here are my reviews:

PROS:

- The new webOS software is awesome. Not bad for a first attempt for a Mobile OS. Just don't turn the phone off. If you need to re-boot, it take a few minutes.

- The Web Browser is awesome. It's about the closest thing you are going to get to an iPhone browser. Sure, it's not exact, but it's pretty darn close!

- GPS is great. It uses the same TeleNAV software that my Instinct was running. The great thing is "MY FAVORITES" just synced over to the new software automatically so i didn't lose anything between upgrades!

- Universal Search is a great feature on this phone. You just type whatever you want on the QWERTY keyboard and the query will search your phone (contacts, apps, etc..) and you have the option to search Google, Google, Maps, Wikipedia, and Twitter.

- The camera is 3.0 MP camera with FLASH!

- I think the QWERTY keyboard is fine. I mean, i guess it's a bit small, but once you get used to it, it's no big deal. Just like any other keyboard. I have never used a Blackberry in my life till yesterday and i was messing around with the Blackberry Curve and sure the keyboard was bigger, but it takes a bit getting used to just like anything else.

- The Applications are awesome. I have used Pandora (Internet Radio), New York Times, AP News, Accuweather, Flightview, and a few more. Everyone has been complaining that they want more Applications. Give it time folks. If you remember, when the iPhone initially came out, they did't have that many apps as well. I am sure you will see more in the future. I hope so!

- Making Custom Ringtones couldn't be easier. All the ringtone files are in .mp3 format so making a ringtone is pretty easy.

- I love having WiFi capablility on this phone. It's probably because i have hooked up most of my friends and family with WiFi routers so connectivity has been great at peoples homes, but it makes web surfing and other internet related items much more enjoyable!

CONS:

- You can't forward text messages. I know? Very strange. Hopefully this will be fixed with a future update from Palm.

- No Video recording as of yet. The rumor is that Palm may fix this with a future update.

- Battery on the Pre is not bad, but it's not great either, it's the middle of the road just like all the SmartPhones. I mean most SmartPhones i have seen only last 1 day on normal use (web surfing, email checking, sms texting, watching videos, listening to music,etc..) which means you must charge it at least once within 24 hours. Be sure to charge the battery fully and then drain it all the way down! This is the most important thing! I think i was just spoiled when i got the two batteries with my Samsung Instinct phone last year. Yes, i couldn't believe Samsung gave me two batteries last year for the Instinct. Who gives you two batteries? Just crazy, but i agree with Samsung, i think all SmartPhones should come with two batteries considering how much people use them. Hopefully battery technology will become better in the future.

- Unable to change the Ringtone for any Text Messages or Emails that come through on the phone. I can't understand why you can change the ringer, but not the notifications. Another example of Software Engineers just not going the extra mile. Hopefully a future update will fix this problem. I guess for now, i will have to live with the "Bing" sound.

- Phone conversations are great indoors or in closed environments, but when you are in the car with the window open, it's hard to hear the other person. I guess most phones are hard to hear when you have the windows open, but it seems a bit harder on this phone. If you are indoors, no problem.

CONCLUSION:

It's only been a few days, but so far i am pretty impressed with this phone. It has a few flaws, but i can't be too upset considering it's BRAND NEW PHONE and OPERATING SYSTEM (i.e. webOS) from Palm. The operating system on the phone is what makes the phone work smoothly. This is what makes Apple so successful. Your mobile Operating System is the key to you enjoying your phone. If that is no good, then who cares about the hardware. Palm has already started to push updates for the webOS so hopefully some of the CONS will be fixed in the future.

Is it better then the iPhone? The Palm Pre has been in development for the past two years and they hired one of the top engineers at Apple in Product Development who basically invented the IPOD, so it's the closest thing you are going to get to the iPhone without having to switch to AT&T. Thank god, because i can't stand AT&T. Maybe if the iPhone comes to Verizon or Sprint, then i will consider the iPhone. Lets see how this phone does over the next few months and then i will do a follow-up review on this blog posting.

Sunil
www.sunilnin.com

<link rel='related' href='http://www.palm.com/us/products/phones/pre/' title='Does the Palm Pre live up to all of it's hype? The Ford Taurus was one of Ford's top selling vehicles for many years. The problem was that they never re-designed the car and used the same old boring design for 15 or so years. Most recently, Ford even dropped the Taurus name (WTF?) and switched the name to the Ford 500. Probably, one of the biggest marketing blunders i have ever seen. C'mon Ford? What do they teach you in Business School.....BRAND RECOGNITION IS THE KEY! Therefore, after 15 years of hyping up the Ford Taurus brand name, they decide to drop it totally. What the hell were you thinking?

It looks like Ford finally realized their mistakes and are coming back stronger then ever. The quality numbers on Ford's have been the highest and years and most recently they announced the 2010 Ford Taurus SHO! Check out pictures and the article on the Ford Taurus SHO! The number one complaint i hear about the IPHONE is that it's on AT&T's network. The phone itself is great, but the service is lacking. Other exclusive contracts are Sprint's new Palm PRE (which is only 6 months..far less then the current Iphone/AT&T exclusive contract). Exclusive G1 Android Phone by T-Mobile and the Blackberry Storm from Verizon. Check out the article.

Sunil

www.sunilnin.com

Lakers make 15 NBA Championships!

Magic prove no match as Kobe, Lakers claim 15th NBA crown

Great Pictures of the NASA Space Shuttle mission to Hubble.

<img style="float:right; In recent months Mr. Rubinstein was hired by Palm along with many other Apple employees to work on the Palm Pre which was just released by Sprint this past weekend. Today, Palm just announced that Jon Rubinstein is now the new CEO of Palm. Is Palm gearing up for a comeback. Well, initial reviews on the Palm Pre have been positive. Why is this the talk of the cell phone market? Well, two reasons. In the last 18 months, Sprint has lost over 1,000,000 customers due to VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE and it's inability to compete with AT&T's Iphone. Palm's earnings recently have not been well also in the past year. Therefore, the Palm Pre is a last ditch effort by Sprint and Palm to revive both companies. Will the Palm Pre add a little spice to both Sprint and Palm. Well, they have a six month exclusive contract till AT&T and Verizon have the Palm Pre. You be the judge. Check out the reviews below:

Palm Pre review from PhoneScoop.com

Palm Pre review from Engadget.com

Palm Pre review from Gizmodo.com

Sunil

The Coolest (and Craziest) Tech Gear and Trends From Computex 2009

Danny Allen of PC World and Owen Fletcher of IDG News Service show us some of the coolest and craziest gadgets to come from Asia's largest tech show.

Palm Pre reviewed by a reporter: Palm's Pre shines in ways, not in others

Everyone has been buzzing about the Palm Pre coming out this weekend on June 6th, 2009. Windows Vista came on the market in Jan'07 and after years of success with Windows XP, Microsoft's success was starting to take a spiral downward (great NIN album..LOL). Microsoft has had nothing but problems with Windows Vista and now to get the bad taste out of everyone's mouth, they have decided to come out with Windows 7. Lets just says i have been using the Release Canidate and installed this operating system a few months ago and i was very impressed. It is by far the fastest windows installation i have seen in years. Also, the User Authentication Control (UAC) in Windows 7 has been minimized. UAC was that annoying windows pop-up that kept coming up in Windows Vista that kept asking you "Are you sure you want to do this?". If you use Windows Vista, you know what i mean. Anyways, i have used Windows 7 for about 5-6 months and it's pretty good so far. Let's see how it performs when the final version hits the market on 10-22-09. The big E3 gaming show started today and who is making a ton of new announcements? Microsoft of course. The Xbox 360 was touted by Bill Gates a few years ago as his gateway to everyone's living room. I will have to agree, he has done a great job so far as long as your XBOX 360 doesn't get the Red Ring of Death. Check out all the interesting things that are coming to the Xbox 360 (click on the links below):

1. Twitter and Facebook on Xbox 360

2. Motion Controller for Xbox 360 (similar to Nitendo's Wii)

3. Full Xbox 360 Retail games deliverd ON-DEMAND

What the heck is Bing.com?

The Internet Search market has evolved over the past 10 years. The first leader was Yahoo who was the leader of the Internet Search Engine market between 1994-1998. Who would have thought that searching for NBA Fantasy Basketball statistics would lead to the development of Yahoo. Yes, Yahoooooooooooooo started from two young college students at Stanford University who wanted a better way to find NBA Fantasy statistics. Then in 1998, two young students by the name of Larry Page and Serge Brin from the same Stanford University decided to work on a graduate research project involving a better way to search the Internet. This project has turned into one of the most popular search engines in the U.S market and the world. This project is now called Google. Google.com is now used by 64 percent of Americans as of last month. The next closest competitor was the former leader Yahoo who currently has 21 percent of the American Search Engine market. Finally, Microsoft who has dominated the PC Operating System and Productivity Software market has approximately 8 percent of the American Search Engine market has failed miserably in the last 10 years to gain any more market share on Google or Yahoo. Therefore, for the past two years, Microsoft has tried to purchase Yahoo without any success. The recent CEO ousting of Jerry Yang has finally put Microsoft in a position to maybe strike a deal for Yahoo or Yahoo's Search Engine. In the meantime, Microsoft has been quietly working on a new Search Engine which is set to launch to the public next week on June 3rd. What fancy name did they come up with???

www.Bing.com

Great Deal on a Nice HP Laptop...

HP Home & Home Office Store - HP Pavilion dv5t Notebook PC w/ 15.4" WSXGA+ (1680x1050), 2.2GHz Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM, 320GB HDD, LightScribe 8X DVD+/-R/RW, Webcam, Wireless-N, High-Capacity Battery and WinVista for only $653.99 with FREE Shipping!

Simply use coupon code: NB4517 for the discount! It looks like the days of Iphone's dominance in the US Cell phone market are numbered. Starting next week on June 6th, Sprint will launch the Palm Pre. The Palm Pre was first introduced to the public earlier this year at the CES 2009 show in Las Vegas. The phone stole the show by winning it's most prestigious award for best innovative product of the year. This new phone is suppose to bring a new O.S. to the Cell Phone market called WebOS developed by Palm. This new mobile O.S. will offer familiar web standards such as CSS, XHTML, and Java Script so developers can build applications for the Palm Pre with no difficulties.
